In the UK Mother’s Day has its roots in the religious Mothering Sunday celebrations, where Christians historically would have visited their mother church. Celebrated on the fourth Sunday in Lent, the day may have taken on more commercial routes in recent years. However, it’s still an opportunity to give thanks and show much love to our mums. This year Mother’s Day will be celebrated on Sunday 27th March.
It’s a perfect opportunity to spoil our mums and let them know that we are grateful for all that they have done and continue to do for us. It’s a chance to treat them and make them feel special. Perhaps you might buy your mum a beautiful bouquet of flowers? Or a special box of chocolates? Maybe a trip to the beautician for a relaxing treat? However you choose to show your love, you’ll know what your mum would like best.
But how about something different? Something longer lasting. Something to keep and treasure forever. Handmade with love, unique and just for her?

Each one is cut out and stitched together by me. I choose pretty floral fabrics that are lovely to look at as well as hold. The covers are filled with just the right amount of wadding to allow the heat to come through but still to have some squashyness for huggable comfort. Each cover is fastened with two pretty bows to add a little feminine touch to them. And they are gift wrapped in cream tissue paper and posted in a mailing cardboard box to ensure that they arrive in perfect condition.
